Ace of Games Operating Manual

Welcome to the FatCat Ace of Games online manual. This online resource is designed to help with the operation of all FatCat "Ace of Games" cabinet types.

Section 1 - Collector Mode

To enter Collector Mode, open the bottom door with the top door closed and turn the Refill Key. The Collector Mode Screen will now be displayed.

From this menu you can access and set various cabinet functions by pressing the relevant buttons from the menu. The functions that can be accessed in Collector Mode are detailed below. To return to the Collector Mode menu from any of the functions screens below press the Return Button in the bottom right-hand corner. 

To exit Collector Mode, remove the Refill Key and press Exit.

Collector Mode 1.1 - Dump / Top Up

Press the Dump/Top-Up Button to access the Hopper Dump/Top-Up Menu. 

 Pressing the Top-Up button will set the current float level to the current target float level.

Pressing the Dispense 200 Items button will start the hopper dump procedure. In the event of a shortfall the current hopper level will be changed to the number of coins dumped. The machine will assume that you have re-floated to this level. If you are making up the difference, insert the required number of coins and press the Top-Up Button. 

NOTE: Only £200 coins are dumped at a time. Press the “Dispense 200” Button again to continue the hopper dump procedure.

If the Note Recycler is fitted & enabled, you can also transfer the contents of the note store into the note stacker (for collection) by pressing the Stack All Items button.

Collector Mode 1.2 - Set Target Float

Press the Set Target Float Button to access the Set Target Float Menu.

 This menu allows you to change or set the Hopper Float Level to the desired level by selecting the value from the drop-down list (press arrow to open list). 

The machine can be supplied with a Note Recycler or a Multi Note Recycler.

When fitted & enabled with a single note recycler, this menu allows you to set the number of notes stored in the recycler. Note, When fitted with a multi note recycler the unit is automatically set to the maximum level.

 

Collector Mode 1.3 - Export to USB

To export the collection data to a USB device, plug a USB device into a spare USB slot in the PC 

Note

(the USB device MUST have a folder named “hotwirelive” on the root of the device).

Once the USB device is inserted, press next and follow export instructions.

 

Collector Mode 1.4 - Collect

Once in the “Collect” menu you can view all the Long and short term meters. To perform a collection, press the “collect” button.

 

Collector Mode 1.5 - Volume

Press the Volume Button to enter the Volume Menu.

In this menu you can adjust the Volume of the machine by pressing the Increase or Decrease Buttons.

 

Collector Mode 1.6 - System

Press the System Button to access the System Menu.

From this menu you can safely shutdown or restart the Machine pressing the corresponding buttons.

Section 2 - Manager Mode

The Manager Mode Menu can be accessed by turning the Refill Key with both doors closed.

This menu enables authorised site personnel access to limited functions such as Play History, Payout History, Refill Mode, Volume adjustment and Hand Pay.

This allows the machine to be checked if a player has a query, Topped-up in the event of a shortfall or the Volume adjusted without the need for an engineer site visit.

To exit Manager Mode, remove the Refill Key and press the Exit Button.

Manager Mode 2.1 - Play History

Play history shows the last 17 games played on the machine - it displays the date & time that the game start button was pressed, the game name, the amount staked & any prize amount won from that particular game / reel spin.

Manager Mode 2.2 - Payout History

Pay history shows the payout attempt history of the machine.

It records the date & time that the Cashout button was pressed, as well as the amount requested to pay and the actual amount paid out from the hopper / note recycler (if fitted & enabled).

Manager Mode 2.3 - Refill

In the event that the Hopper runs empty, authorised site personnel may top up the hopper by pressing the Refill Button to access the Refill Menu.

£1 coins can then be inserted into the machine through the Coin Mech to refill the hopper.

Any monies inserted in this way will be metered on the Refill Meter which can be found in the Accountancy Menu.

The machine will notify you when the Hopper is full.

To exit Refill Mode, press the Exit Button.

Manager Mode 2.4 - Volume

Press the Volume Button to enter the Volume Menu.

In this menu you can adjust the Volume of the machine by pressing the Increase or Decrease Buttons.

To exit Volume Mode, press the Exit Button.

Manager Mode 2.5 - Hand Pay

When the “Hand Pay” has been set, once the player presses collect (with equal or more than the amount set in the “service Mode” (5.3 Change General Settings) option, the above screen will be displayed. This screen states “Handpay required – Please call an attendant to collect your winnings”. The player can cancel the collect procedure at this time if required.

Once the above Hand Pay has been initiated and an attendant called, the attendant simply enters “Manager Mode” (Refill Key Only) and selects the “Hand Pay” option. The above screen will then be displayed. Once the attendant has paid the player, press the “Hand Pay” button to complete the Hand Pay procedure. This procedure clears the bank and adds the amount paid into the “Hand Pay” section in the collection stats.

Performing a handpay rectifies the whole amount displayed in the IOU. It also clarifies the handpay amount and confirms the bank has been cleared.

Section 3 - Service Mode

To enter Service Mode, open the Top Door, toggle or hold the Test Button.

An on-screen OK Button will appear on screen.

Press the OK Button to enter Service Mode.

Note

Pressing anywhere outside of the OK Button will enter Touchscreen Calibration.

The machine will now enter Service Mode.

Service Mode 3.1 - System Info

Press the System Info Button to display information regarding the software version and status of the machine, some information may not be applicable depending on the machine setup.

You can also clear any Credit or Bank values that are on the machine, by pressing the appropriate button.

Section Item 3.2 - Acountancy

To enter the Accountancy Menu, press the Accountancy Button.This displays all of the machines metering information.&

The meters can be shown in cash values or in 10p units. The meters are explained below:

Refill - Number of coins inserted in the Refill Menu.
Cash In - Amount of cash in during normal operation.
Cash Out - Amount of coins paid out of hopper during normal operation.
Notes In - Amount of cash inserted in notes.
Notes Out - Amount of notes paid out of recycler in normal operation (if fitted).
Cashless In - Amount of E-Money transferred in. (if fitted).
Cashless Out - Amount of E-Money transferred out. (if fitted).
Ticket In - Amount of cash inserted in via Tickets (if fitted).
Ticket Out - Amount of cash paid out via Tickets (if fitted).
Handpay - Amount hand paid in the event of an empty hopper or paid via Hand Pay setting.
VTP - Value Total Plays.
Winnings - Amount that has been won from the machine. Plays - Total Plays.
Plays - Value Total Plays.
Machine % Payout - Average % payout of all the games on the machine.
Profit - Value of the Total profit earned by the machine.

Section Item 3.3 - Game Meters

Press the Config Button to access the Game Meters Menu.

This menu shows the performance of each individual game.

Plays - Number of times the game has been played.
VTP - Value of the total plays of the game.
VTW - Value of Total Winnings from the game.
RTP - Game Payout percentage.

Section Item 3.4 - Update Software

Insert the USB device with the Showtime update on then Press the “Next” Button and follow the instructions to update the software.

Section Item 3.5 - Config

Press the Config button to access the Configuration Menu.

Configure Cashless

The "Configure Cashless" section is used to configure the chosen cashless device

Configure Menu

The "Configure Menu" section is used to configure the game menu. You can enable and disable games and configure games to run as CatC or CatB4 (if a valid B4 licence card is fitted).

Configure Games

The "Configure Cashless" section is used to configure the RTP of the games.

Settings

The "Settings" section is used to configure the following...

  1. IO Type - (Used to select EFCO or Quixant PC Types).
  2. Cabinet - (Used to Select the Cabinet Type).
  3. Note Device - (Used to select between Note Dispenser and Multi Note Dispenser).
  4. Site Name - (Used to enter the machines site name).
  5. Machine Category - (Used to switch between CatC and CatB4/CatC).
  6. Screen Aspect Ratio - (Used to set screen Aspect Ratio to "Widescreen or "4/3").
  7. Note Acceptor BNV Key - (Used to set Note Acceptor BNV key if required *Default Set To 123456).
  8. Single Note Recycler - (Used to configure a Single Note Recycler).
  9. NV22 Multi Note Recycler - (Used to configure a Multi Note Recycler).
  10. Note Recycler Max Level (Note) - (Set to Maximum by default when using an NV22).
  11. £1.00 Hopper Max Level (Coins) - (Used to configure a Multi Note Recycler).
  12. Dataport Protocol - (Used to switch Dataport on or off).
  13. Handpay Limit - (Used to configure "Handpay" limit levels).
  14. Modem Name - (Used to configure 3G connection).
  15. Game Sashes - (Used to turn £400/£100 Game Sashes on or off).
Register Terminal

The "Register Terminal" section is used to register the terminal on the FatCat "Quonnect" Gaming Machine Monitoring & Management System.

Configure WiFi

The "Configure WiFi" section is used to configure and connect to the local WiFi.

Configure Lighting

The "Configure Lighting" section allows you to choose between a number of different cabinet lighting effects (selected cabinets only).

Date & Time

The "Date & Time" section is used to configure the date and time of the machine. Incorrect date and time may result in a "Licence Error" message.

Volume

The "Volume" section is used to ajust the volume level of the machine.

Section Item 3.6 - Change Pin

The "Change Pin" section allows you to change the security PIN of the machine.

Section Item 3.7 - Error Log

The "Error Log" section allows you to view historical errors that may have been reported on the machine.

Section Item 3.8 - Peripherals

The "Peripherals" section is used to configure the following...

  1. Coin Despenser (Used to test the coin dispenser).
  2. Dataport (Used to configure the Dataport).
  3. Touchscreen (Used to Calibrate the touchscreen).
  4. Switches (Used to test the all swiches and buttons).
  5. Outputs (Uesd to test all light outputs).
  6. Note Dispenser/NV22 Dispenser (Used to test the note dispenser is dispencing notes correctly).
  7. Note Acceptor/NV22 Acceptor (Used to test the note acceptor is accepting notes correctly).
  8. Coin Acceptor (Used to test the coin acceptor is accepting coins and diverting correctly).

Section Item 3.9 - System

The "System" section is used to configure the following...

  1. Restart Shell (Used to restart the machine software only).
  2. Shutdown PC (Used to completely shut down the PC).
  3. Restart PC (Used to restart the PC).
  4. Backup and Shutdown (Used to backup ALL machine dfata to the "BBM Backup" device).
  5. Launch Explorer (Uesd to stsrt Windows Explorer).

Section 4 - Device Pairing

Section Item 4.1 - Trusted Mode Eagle

If Your Machine is fitted with a V2 Eagle coin acceptor unit and operates with DES Encryption. If the machine is unable to communicate with the coin acceptor unit follow the following procedure.

Trusted Exchange / Pairing Mode

To put the V2 Eagle into trusted exchange mode.
Apply power to the Coin Reader.
Remove power.
Turn the Coin Reader upside down for 3 seconds.
Plug the coin reader back in.
The Coin Reader is now in trusted exchange mode.

This device requires no action to exit trusted mode (prepare for normal use).

Section Item 4.2 - Trusted Mode NV11

If Your Machine is fitted with a NV11 unit and operates with DES Encryption. If the machine is unable to communicate with the coin acceptor unit follow the following procedure.

Trusted Exchange / Pairing Mode

To put the NV11 into trusted exchange mode.
Open the NV11 by slide the front latch and lifting.
Ensure the two halves of the device stay separated at all times.
Plug in the NV11 - the two halves must still be separated.
After 2 seconds...
Hold down the RED button on the Recycler head unit.
After approximately 4 seconds there will be a constant flashing red light inside the NV11, Note: this is not the Bezel light
Let go of the button.

To exit trusted mode (prepare for normal use) close the device and reboot.

Section Item 4.3 - Trusted Mode NV22

If Your Machine is fitted with a NV22 unit and operates with DES Encryption. If the machine is unable to communicate with the NV22 unit follow the following procedure.

Trusted Exchange / Pairing Mode

To put the NV22 into trusted exchange mode.
Open the NV22 by slide the front latch and lifting.
Ensure the two halves of the device stay separated at all times.
Plug in the NV22 - the two halves must still be separated.
After 2 seconds...
Hold down the RED button on the Recycler head unit.
After approximately 4 seconds there will be a constant flashing red light inside the NV22, Note: this is not the Bezel light
Let go of the button.

To exit trusted mode (prepare for normal use) close the device and reboot.

Section Item 4.4 - Trusted Mode JCM VEGA

If Your Machine is fitted with a JCM VEGA unit and operates with DES Encryption. If the machine is unable to communicate with the JCM VEGA unit follow the following procedure.

Trusted Exchange / Pairing Mode

To put the JCM VEGA into trusted exchange mode.
Turn on DIL switch 4 on switch bank 2.
Ensure DIL switches 6,7 and 8 on switch bank 2 are turned on.
Ensure no other DIL switches are turned on. This includes The RC Unit.

To exit trusted mode (prepare for normal use) turn of DIL switch 5 and reboot.

Section Item 4.5 - Trusted Mode SUZO Flow

If Your Machine is fitted with a SUZO Flow Hopper unit and operates with DES Encryption. If the machine is unable to communicate with the SUZO Flow unit follow the following procedure.

Trusted Exchange / Pairing Mode

To put the Flow Hopper into trusted exchange mode.
Turn on DIL Switch 8.
No other DIL switches should be turned on.

To exit Trusted mode (prepare for normal use) turn of DIL switch 8 and reboot the device

Section Item 4.5 - Azkoyen UII

The Azkoyen UII Hopper does not operate with DES Encryption so no pairing is required.

Section 5 - Troubleshooting

Section Item 5.1 - HotWire BBM Backup Device

Any FatCat Ace of Games built after 2023 will have a "HotWire BBM Backup Device" fitted. This device can be found by removing the access plate found on the front of the EFCO PC unit. Everytime the machine is turned on the gaming system will automatically back all the machine settings to the "HotWire BBM Backup Device"

  1. All Acounting Settings
  2. All Machine Settings.
  3. All Game Meter Settings.
  4. All Game "Bonus Pot" Amounts.
  5. All Game "Compensation" Amounts.
  6. Machine Catagory.
  7. All Float & Note Device Settings”.
  8. Cashless Device Settings.
  9. Lighting Settings
  10. Game Sash Settings.

If at any time you need to replace the EFCO PC unit, remove the "HotWire BBM Backup Device" from the EFCO PC and simply fit it to the new EFCO PC unit and the "HotWire BBM Backup Device" will restore all the machine/site specific data to your new EFCO PC.

If at any time you need to replace the EFCO PC SSD Hard Drive, simply fit it to the new SSD Hard Drive into the EFCO PC unit and the "HotWire BBM Backup Device" will restore all the machine/site specific data to your new EFCO PC SSD Har Drive.

Section Item 5.2 - Monitor Configuration

If at any point the monitors are now displaying correctly, please follow the following steps to correct the problem.

  1. Connect a Keyboard to the PC and press CTtrl+Alt+Delete to enter Task Manager.
  2. Go to “Processes” and select “Boot.exe” and end task.
  3. Select “Hotwire.Unit.Shell.exe” and end task.
  4. Go to “Applications” and press “New Task”.
  5. From the dropdown list select “Explorer”.
  6. Press the "Win" key on the keyboard to display the "Start" panel.
  7. Press the "Gear" settings icon to display the "Settings" Window.
  8. Type “Display” into the search box to launch the “Display Settings”.
  9. In “Display Settings” press "Identify" and note which monitor is "Monitor 1" and "Monitor 2".
  10. Move the "Monitor 1" and "Monitor 2" icon boxes to the correct configuration (e.g. "Monitor 1" directly above "Monitor 2").
    Note
    Check that the bottom monitor is set as the “Primary Monitor” and both monitor resolutions are set to 1920x1080.
  11. Press Apply.
  12. Restart the machine.
